A new DX era started.... new antenna - new life

After almost a year, when my beam system collapsed after a very heavy storm, now I'm on the run again with a new aerial. The last week-end was spend to do the installation of the new antenna and mast over the roof. I have install a professional telescopic mast from Prosistel, 6mt high, on a personalized base made from Gianni I7PHH. I choose to purchase an antenna who allowed me to cover as much band as possible, with the best performance on dx (quite important) and the lowest visual profile. I was in the doubt if going for a Steppir DB18 or an Ultrabeam UB50 but after several considerations I decide to get the Ultrabeam UB50 beacuse less impressive for the neighborhood and for the new VRS system on the motors which seems to be a real step forward on dynamic antennas. Not to forget that being an italian company, the after sale support should be easier for italian customers.
At today there are 5 days that I have the antenna up and I'm still playing around settings and receiption test. Yesterday night I decide to take my time and do a couple of hours of dxing. I'm still impressed of what I have done with only 100w all the night... from Alaska to Cambodia, from South America to Caribbean not forgetting Africa and something else. Many times I was heard at the first call.... yes, I know there wasn't any strong pile-ups as on dx-ped, but you know... really amazing.
Before publishing any picture of the installation I have to do a couple of things and complete definetly my walks on the roof.
My only hope is to don't have any trouble with local authorities and start any legal process to enjoy my hobby.
Just want to thank for the great support in installing the antena my son Dani, my son Leo and not least, my big friend Giorgio IZ3BUG who has drive more then 100km to come and help me.
Without them the installation would have been impossible. THANKS.
Well, for the moment that's all, next time more details and impressions.

Wish you all many DX and fun on radio.
